About Us

Our combined professional strengths and integrated capabilities are as diverse as the communities we serve. Our people are what set us apart and we understand the specific challenges local governments face.

Our Strong Heritage

Peak Services was created by the LGAQ to provide professional services and products that local governments need, delivered by an expert team that knows and understands the sector well.

What makes Peak unique is that it tailors its offerings across areas such as recruitment, grants writing and legal services to best reflect each of its customers' local needs.

As a profit-for-purpose enterprise, any profits are returned to the LGAQ for it to use in its advocacy, engagement and member services to benefit all Queensland councils, which also helps keep membership fees low.

Our people, your team

Our purpose is to help local government achieve more and our people are at the forefront of everything we do as local government. Our people are your people. Your team. Our combined professional strengths and integrated capabilities are as diverse as the communities we serve.

We have people working in each and every Queensland council and we understand the specific challenges faced by local government.

We are here to support your community

We support the communities where we live and work and demonstrate this by sponsoring a variety of local events across Queensland. These events and initiatives are run by councils, contributing to fundraising for local causes, boosting economic development and enhancing liveability across the state.

In recognition of the innovative spirit of Queensland local governments, in 2018 we launched the Butch Lenton Memorial Bush Council Award (in honour of the late Mayor of Winton Shire Council Graeme ‘Butch’ Lenton). This award provides a bursary to a council or individual who would like to undertake an activity that demonstrates innovation. This award is presented at the LGAQ Annual Conference.

Peak partners with many councils, in particular regional/remote locations, to provide social benefits to numerous local communities, including:

  • Procurement, project management and professional advisory – our Consulting Team helps councils with procurement and infrastructure project management, helping to create liveable communities across the state.

  • Community grant writing assistance – Peak provides grant writing assistance for multiple council and community projects, securing $50m in grant funding for Queensland councils and their communities.

  • eLearning training for remote communities – Peak provides online learning through a web-based Learning Management System (LMS), enabling remote council staff to be trained onsite.

We are here to build capability in your people
