The Community Energy Upgrades Fund Round 2 is now open, offering local governments the opportunity to access matched funding of up to $2.5 million to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and lower energy bills in council-owned and operated facilities.

With $100 million available over two rounds, this program supports the electrification and decarbonisation of local government infrastructure, contributing to Australia’s Net Zero 2050 target.

This funding can help councils:

  • Upgrade buildings and facilities to reduce energy costs.
  • Improve energy performance for a more sustainable future.
  • Increase the capacity of local workforces and supply chains.
