SAVE THE DATE - HR Masterclass 2025

Back

Get ready for an exciting return! Due to popular demand, we're thrilled to announce another series of HR Masterclasses across Queensland in 2025. This year's event will feature insightful presentations by Commissioner Pidgeon and Commissioner McLennan from the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC).

Join us for two days of engaging sessions, with a special dinner and networking event on the first night. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your HR skills and connect with industry leaders!

The theme will be 'Navigating complex employment issues through proactive solutions'.

In this insightful two-day masterclass we’ll explore:

  • recent legislation changes, including the Anti-Discrimination Act and Industrial Relations Act;
  • key IR laws, including discipline, general protections, and sexual harassment;
  • dealing with complex multi-faceted workplace cases;
  • preparation for tribunal attendance and advocacy;
  • and a discussion with the QIRC Commissioner/s about best practice advocacy.

Our Masterclass will emphasise proactive strategies to resolve issues before they escalate to an industrial tribunal. You'll learn how to manage risks effectively and prepare your Council for positive outcomes; if litigation occurs. Gain valuable insights directly from Commissioners as they share their expectations and experiences, based on cases brought before them.

The Local Government Association of Queensland will also be joining us to provide an update and connect with you during networking sessions.

Our partners Brighter Super, LGMS and LGAQ will also provide insights into the current trends in their relevant industries.

Please note, these Masterclasses are only available to Council officers, and State and Federal Government employees. Masterclasses are free to attend.
