Funding Opportunity Alert: Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program
Peak’s Consulting Services Grant Office team are thrilled to welcome the announcement of the much anticipated Remote Airport Upgrade (RAUP) - Round 11.
$25 million in Federal Government funding has been made available under Round 11 of the grant program to improve safety and accessibility of aerodromes in remote areas of Australia.
Round 11 has been extended to support improved access to air services for people with disability. This may include items such as ramps, signage or aircraft boarding facilities.
Other eligible costs can involve:
- Costs associated with contractors who undertake project activities (including capital items and materials purchased by contractor).
- The portion of employee costs directly related to undertaking core elements of the project (including labour-on costs at an additional 30 per cent).
- Aviation-safety related staff training
- Capital expenditure for the purchase of assets such as lighting and control systems, markers and navigational aids
- Materials associated with airstrip sealing, re-sealing and sheeting; repair, restoration and reconstruction or drainage works; fencing
- Basic airside ambulance and emergency patient shelters (to support patient health in transit)
- Works to support access to terminal and/or aircraft for people with disability.
- Independent audit report up to 1% or $5000.00
- Tender design and process costs:
- Costs associated with final engineering specifications and drawings required for tender design and construction process
- Contingency costs, inspection reports and/or consultancy advice up to a maximum of 10 per cent of the eligible project cost.
This funding is a critical opportunity for eligible councils to enhance their regions and deliver essential year-round all-weather access infrastructure to improve delivery of essential goods and services.
