10-year recycling plan - Moreton Bay Regional Council
Peak Waste Management supported Moreton Bay Council’s with its 10-year recycling plans, including the construction and maintenance of three engineered landfills, eight closed landfills, nine waste transfer stations and associated infrastructure.
The landfill construction also incorporated consultation on a leachate collection system including bulk earth works and waste transfer stations. Additionally, our team prepared and managed tenders for various contracts and prepared and implemented the Public Benefit Assessment Report and National Competition Reform of significant business activity for waste service.
Peak also prepared, implemented and managed council’s $45 million annual Waste Services budget, achieving operating surplus of $9 million for the department whilst maintaining Southeast Queensland’s lowest waste rates charges. We also implemented high efficiency storm water treatment systems for Bunya and Dakabin landfills by modifying the existing sediment ponds through simple and cost-effective methods.
