Key Grant Programs for Quarter 1 - 2022!
Northern Territory Councils are welcoming in the new year with key funding opportunities available to help deliver vital community, infrastructure and tourism projects to your regions.
These key grant programs – with applications closing quarter 1, 2022.
Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) - Round 6
Closing 10 February 2022
Applications are open for the highly competitive Round 6 of the Federal Government's 'Building Better Regions Fund' (BBRF).
The Round 6 funding of $250 million will be delivered across two streams for new projects that offer long-term benefit to regional communities.
The Infrastructure Projects Stream - supporting investment ready projects that provide economic and social benefits for regional and remote areas. Grants of $20,000 to $10 million are available to cover 50% or more of eligible project costs
The Community Investments Stream - supporting new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas. Grants of $5,000 to $1 million are available to cover 50% or more of eligible project costs.
Specialist Disability Accommodation – Land Grant 2021
Closing 25 February 2022
This grant, an initiative of the Northern Territory Government aims to provide new fit-for-purpose SDA dwellings that are sustainable, safe, secure and able to support people eligible under NDIS.
Expressions of interest are open to NFP and NGO’s for the construction of these new dwellings across Darwin's northern suburbs, Palmerston and Alice Springs. Available will be seven parcels of vacant land to address this growing community need.
Local tourism is also a focus, with the Northern Territory Government launching two tourism support initiatives on Christmas Eve:
Tourism Evening Experiences Development Support
Closing 14 January 2022
This program aims to be deliver benefits to the regions that align with recognised tourism needs:
- The need to further develop night time tourism experiences
- To extend the breadth of experiences available
- To increase the length of stay and support regional dispersal
Closing soon, this competitive expression of interest program will provide $100,000 to assist tourism operators develop these experiences in the regions.
Tourism Town Asset Program
Closing 11 February 2022
This program will provide $1 million in funding to support Regional and Town Councils undertake enhancement projects designed to improve on-ground experiences in the NT.
The focus of this program is to enhance and improve main streets and town centres to create welcoming public spaces for visitors to the region.
Grant Funding Success Story - Mount Isa City Council
Mount Isa City Council was one of the 104 successful applicants across Australia who were offered funding in the highly competitive BBRF Community Investments stream for round 5. Peaks Grant Team managed the submission to secure Council over $500,000 in funding to deliver an event which will celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the discovery of minerals in the city.
