Asset Management Improvement Program - Mount Isa City Council
Peak was engaged by Mt Isa City Council to investigate the current asset management practices. These services included a review of council’s Asset Management Policy, strategy documentation, Asset Management System, Asset Management Plans and Asset Register.
Peak assisted council with the alignment of key service delivery functions (finance, works, engineering), along with reviewing the attributes, data integrity, cost coding, naming conventions and descriptions of the asset management registers.
Peak were involved in the revaluation of assets, providing impairment reviews and condition assessments. In addition, management policies and procedures were reviewed, along with existing hierarchies, decision making workflow and performance measures. Workflow and process for requisitioning, purchase orders, data collection and entry were reviewed, and the capture of expenditure incurred on non-current assets was also identified. Training was provided to council officers to increase organisational awareness of its asset management requirements.
This work led to Peak development a new Asset Management Policy and Strategy for council and the implementation of an Asset Management Improvement Reporting Program.
