Highly Competitive Grants Programs - Now Open!
Queensland Councils are set to welcome in the new year with a funding boost to help deliver vital community and infrastructure development projects.
This week, two highly competitive grant programs have opened for application; Building Better Regions Fund Round 6 (Federal) and 2022-24 Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program.
2022-24 Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program (LGGSP)
Opened 13 December 2021, Closing 4 March2022
The 2022-24 LGGSP opened this week, with fund allocation totalling almost $86 million, to be delivered over two financial years.
This highly competitive application-based grant program aims to support Queensland councils to deliver priority infrastructure and essential services needs like tourism, water and sewage or sports and community infrastructure.
Applications are open to all 77 Queensland Councils.
Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) - Round 6
Opened 13 December 2021, Closing 10 February 2022
Applications are now open for Round 6 of the Federal Government's 'Building Better Regions Fund' (BBRF).
The Round 6 funding of $250 million will be delivered across two streams for new projects that offer long-term benefit to regional communities.
The Infrastructure Projects Stream - supporting investment ready projects that provide economic and social benefits for regional and remote areas. Grants of $20,000 to $10 million are available to cover 50% or more of eligible project costs
The Community Investments Stream - supporting new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas. Grants of $5,000 to $1 million are available to cover 50% or more of eligible project costs.
BBRF Round 5 Grant Funding Success Story - Mount Isa City Council
Mount Isa City Council was one of the 104 successful applicants across Australia who were offered funding in the highly competitive BBRF Community Investments stream for round 5. Peaks Grant Team managed the submission to secure Council over $500,000 in funding to deliver an event which will celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the discovery of minerals in the city.
