Business Centre - Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council

Peak assisted council’s application for Building Our Regions Round 5 funding for a business case for a new Business Centre for Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council. 

Once constructed, the building will provide a workspace for council administration and chambers, as well as offices for use by external service providers and microbusinesses, and a Disaster Management Coordination Centre. 

This is priority infrastructure for Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire and is critical to creating a modern business centre. Importantly, it meets community needs identified in the Corporate Plan 2018-23: it supports council business; provides quality infrastructure; consolidates the town centre; gives greater access to services; improves governance and communications; improves the general appearance of township; fosters community participation and involvement.
