This course is suited to team leaders, supervisors and managers who need to improve their understanding of Local Governance finance. Commencing with an overview of the legislative requirements for accounting and finance, this course will then consider the budget process and the three major financial statements, ie Financial Position, Comprehensive Income and Cash Flows. Finally, financial performance will be considered with the introduction of financial ratio analysis techniques and consideration of council financial data.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will gain increased knowledge, skills and understanding of the Queensland local government finances. This program will help attendees raise their awareness and understanding of financial concepts and procedures as well as the use of this understanding to solve financial problems.
