This is a 1 day course providing general information on principles and best practice in effective stores and inventory management.
It needs to be acknowledged up front that individual councils will have different procedures and processes for stores and inventory management. This course is not designed to drill down to procedural and process level but rather to give an overview of the policies and principles that would apply to most organisations.

- Proper store keeping procedures eg concept of storing materials
- Storing items and maintenance of service items, dangerous goods and finished goods
- How to run a stocktake
- Manage excess and/or obsolete stock.
